Unless the concept of what a fraction actually is, is well embedded in a child’s mind, he/she will not be able to do the 4 operations involving fractions. This set of worksheets was developed in response to the needs of a pupil who has dyscalculia and who found it very difficult to understand fractions. In order to consolidate her understanding we did multiple practical tasks involving cutting and sharing. I created the worksheets so that she would also be able to respond to written work involving fractions as well as practical work. Having used the resource many times I can attest to its effectiveness. The pupils enjoy the activities and participate with enthusiasm.
