Main
Beowulf was meant to be heard, not just read and this 8 scene reader’s theater is a easy, effective way to introduce or culminate a unit. Kevin Crossley-Holland, a renowned Beowulf translator, stated that an epic "should be read out loud-an epic in the oral tradition is never going to sit very easily on the printed page"

This package contains much more than the .PDF and Word.doc versions of the 8 scene reader’s theater. Also included are lesson ideas, how to do a reader’s theater (for first timers), a rubric, handouts, and a 17 slide Power Point with samples of alliteration and kennings, projects and more internet resources, a folder of .JPEGS from the Power Point.
